Another tutorial where the main focus is on playing with the paint and having fun.
We will still look at the importance of light & shadow and tonal values to help us have fun; and of course lots of talk of paint consistency, which in many ways is the key to playing with the paint. Ultimately this is about getting to know our medium more!
The large area of feathers in the body turns out to be a wonderful place to explore working wet in wet for longer. The deep rich darks go in whilst this area is still damp.
Finally, we look at making sense of the more abstract areas using dry brushwork, a few finishing touches, and making the most of our focal point, in this case, the head!
An extremely fun one so I hope you enjoy the play - and don't forget, you don't have to follow mine exactly!! (if at all)
