Toucans - Going Big With Backgrounds : Preview

This time we are scaling up in size with two big bold and colourful toucans (although sticking to the usual A3 size will work great too!).

There are always a few extra considerations when scaling up in size. As well as what to do with a large area of background or nothingness?

Plus in this case, what to do with large areas of flat black? Can we inject a little more life into these areas whilst not drawing attention away from the focal point of the heads?

The principles we cover in this tutorial can be applied to any subject at any scale, but having these principles exaggerated in this tutorial will really help with our understanding of them!

A secondary point here is how to tackle a subject when the lighting is less obvious or highly contrasted.

I do introduce a couple of different brushes here but don't worry, these aren't essential. I simply wanted to take this as an opportunity to show you a couple of extras.
