Painting faces is so much fun! I love it.
But they can feel a little intimidating, plus it can be all too easy to get caught up in the perfect likeness and trying to capture all the details - in turn making our paintings overworked and a little stiff.
In this tutorial I show you the key to capturing the essence of a face whilst not sacrificing a loose, more painterly feel; ultimately leading to a more relaxed and fun approach to painting faces - which funnily enough, usually leads to paintings we are much happier with!
