Flamingos - Brush Strokes & Single Washes - Preview
One of the real joys of watercolour is its immediacy - the ability to capture a subject in a quick and expressive way.
Painting a trio of flamingos we focus on exactly this. After a lovely flowing wash for the background we dive straight into painting the flamingos in a single wash, using simple washes and expressive brush marks to breath life into them.
You can take all of the principles covered in this tutorial into any subject, at any size, and they will immediately loosen up your watercolours.
As always have fun with this one. Happy painting!
