Following on from the figures techniques and tips videos a closer look at how to bring all this information into some actual paintings.
So that’s the 1st focus of these tutorials - simple figures in a setting.
The second focus is continuing to explore to the immediacy of watercolour as a medium to capture a scene in a quick and expressive way (whilst having lots of fun with it)
My hope here is first to show you how little information we actually need to create a working painting. One that can still have light, colour and life to it.
The key is learning to simplify the subject - edit out of it what does not support your idea or vision, then do your best to paint simply.
It is this approach and mindset that I think can stand us in very good stead even when we are moving into large and more complex paintings.
As always, have fun with this one. See where it takes you. Keep simple. Keep it fresh.
