Have you ever found yourself lost in details and caught up in overworking a watercolour? I’m pretty certain the answer is yes!
This tutorial of a wonderful Highland Cow is all about giving ourselves permission to “not make it like the photo”.
I find the pursuit of the perfect painting, and trying to copy the subject exactly, often leads to overcomplicating things and getting caught up in detail, to the detriment of that lovely free-flowing, fresh nature of watercolour.
We’ll also explore the idea of working into some darker tones whilst the first wash is still wet. Such a fun way to work, where a few simple pointers can go a long way!
