Atmospheric Landscape - Composition : Preview

The key to creating an exciting landscape is a good, solid composition. Ok, it might not sound like the most thrilling part - but honestly, it’s the foundation that everything else is built on. And it’s what gives us the freedom to play and have fun with watercolour! Which is what it’s all about.

The best thing? Composition doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it’s often better when it’s not. It just takes a few pointers and some simple considerations when planning a painting; with a simple, yet considered composition absolutely setting us up for the best chance of results!

The second thing to think about - built right into a strong composition - is: what’s the light doing? And where are my points of interest? 

Ok, again, this is the more logical side of painting, but these little considerations go a long way.
