This week we’re slowing things down and breaking the watercolour process into clear, manageable stages.
This Lioness & Cub might look a little more complex, but we’ll keep it simple — focusing on strong shapes of light and shadow, building the painting through clear tonal groups at a calm, steady pace, and enjoying the natural flow and excitement of watercolour without rushing or overcomplicating.
We’ll also explore paint consistency, blending darks and details into dry washes, lifting pigment, and picking just a few key details to make the faces pop.
It’s all about slowing down, keeping a steady, manageable process, and letting the painting come to life step by step — while still having fun with it!
Great if you’re earlier on and want to push yourself and scale up a little — and plenty here for more experienced painters too.
Join me for a relaxed, rewarding session with a beautiful result at the end.
